Vecchia Italia - CHERASCO

Nella pittoresca dimora di Cherasco un piccolo ristoro d’altri tempi…menu’ semplice ma curato nei sapori e nei gusti…una lode al vitello tonnato…eccezionali le acciughe al verde, gusto e ricordo di un tempo passato…giovani cordiali, cortesi ed efficienti nel servizio…Bravi!!! Indubbiamente da ritornare…

Sunday May 12 was our last day of 9 in Cherasco, but also the first day of the monthly antique market for 2019. We waited about 30 minutes for a table and happy we did. All the staff was super friendly despite being almost overwhelmed with customers. Our food came well prepared, warm and delicious. A slight spin on agnolotti which was appreciated. My husband’s lasagna had at least 12 very thin layers. My first was octopus, potatoes and artichokes. Soooo good. Our other starter was very very thinly sliced prosciutto with creamy buffalo burrata. Both starters were some of the best ever in Italy. Definitely recommend.

Delicious pizza, reasonable prices, nice staff, but maybe a little simple restaurant and a little limited selection of wines. However, they had very good food and a huge selection of pizzas all over the 4 sides of the menu.

Our friends eat out all the time in Mellieha and we take turns to find new restaurants to make a change. We are lucky to be able to eat out anywhere we wish. Our friends checked this restaurant was open all day and they booked for early afternoon. They have been at least 6 times recently. They were disappointed in the service and apologetic about the noisy roof due to the wind. It was loud. However, whilst we were trying to enjoy a celebration we watched them sweep the floor, wash down the floor, get a ladder out to do maintenance, and move all the tables around. Then the entire staff sat down to eat their lunch before we left. They should not have taken our booking if they did not want us there. So bearing in mind our friends are good customers, and we booked and checked we were welcome and we were spending quite a lot of money, this is a strange way to treat local customers. We took the hint to leave and finished our meal elsewhere. I rarely write bad reviews on this site but I shall never go there again. I asked for an “oozing” cheese starter and I am fairly sure my starter was not what I ordered. but with roof noise this is understandable! . My chicken and the Salmon and lasagne were all over cooked. Three prawns on top of the pasta only . The views are stunning but I suspect they have lost four frequent and very generous customers. This is the sort of treatment that gives Malta a bad name.

Recensione del ristorante pizzeria situato nel centro di Cherasco. Il locale ha uno stile un po' vecchio, ma il suo punto forte è il cortile interno davvero carino. Abbiamo provato due piatti della cucina, entrambi buoni, e due pizze, una delle quali era un po' troppo cotta e quindi un po' liquida. Il voto finale tiene conto della media tra la qualità della cucina e delle pizze. Il personale è gentile e premuroso, con la ragazza bionda alla cassa che presumo sia la proprietaria, davvero un tesoro, mentre il pizzaiolo era un po' rumoroso e sgarbato. Insomma, tipico dell'Italia, vero? Ma torneremo, probabilmente abbiamo beccato una serata sfortunata con il pizzaiolo.
