Since i live next door, i have not missed the sunday evening milling crowd around the restaurant. Wonder why the restaurant looks like it has received no face lifting in a very long time! That apart, we did get to eat a decent Sunday breakfast. Mysore masala dosa, single vada and coffee, for two of us cost us around 400 rupees. Thankfully, the aloo filling inside the dosa was not runny, which often turn the dosa soggy. Sambar had the mild sweetish-ness to it, just the way i prefer. The ubiquitous red chutney of chennai eateries was missing, to be replaced by a browner version, which I presume is of fried and ground daal, it wasn't bad either. But the miserly portions of sambar was the disappointing part. Nevertheless, it's good place to visit if you like the Udupi style breakfast.
One of the late night restaurant in town with good food quality.
Love the food and service here!! Neer Dosa a must have.
Visited this place two days back and i am huge fan of this place and it was great overall, tried the paneer tikka surprisingly it came early and the taste was just spectacular to be honest and we ordered one more plate after finishing the first one, then tried the Mangalore bonda it was super great and awesome which has 10 pieces with sambar and chutney, the malga podi idly was okay because it had too much ghee on it and could have been improved, the methi dosa was good and Raja Raja cholan dosai was okay because the stuffing was very heavy and dosa side and upper layer was crispy for few minutes but the bottom layer was not crispy because of stuffing and side and upper layer are crispy around 2-5 minutes not more than that, which the dosa also could have been improved, tried the kadabu which is equivalent to idly was great accompanied with sambar and chutney but the white kurma was okay in my opinion, the onion podi upthappam was also great, plain idly and idly dipped in sambar was also nice,we ordered chilli cheese toast that was also awesome and in continental tried the pasta that is the spaghetti neopoliton was just great,it had quality and quantity was fulfilling with great vegetables like sweet corn, capsicum and bell peppers which was just treat and awesome, coffee was great and sizzling brownie was just awesome to complete a stunning dinner meal at Mathsya,Egmore.
