Good Ginseng chicken bread and beef ribs soup. Great part, but note that they are not allowed to share.
Biwon holds the claim to have the best Samgyetang in Jeju. A small sign in front of the restaurant from some ministry/tourism association helps support that claim. There are only 3 dishes, and there is a 'No Sharing ' policy. Meaning if there are three people, you must order 3 dishes. You have the star of the show, the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup), Beef short ribs soup (galbitang), and Chicken Gizzard (dakmoraejumeoni). The first two are soup based, the last is dry. The difference between the Samgyetang here and elsewhere is that while others are normally served with glutinous rice inside the chicken, Samgyetang in Biwon is served with rice/porridge and HUGE chunks of Ginseng inside. Portions are large as well; out of the 3 people in our group who ordered it nobody managed to finish their meal on their own. The Galbitang was okay, not special in particular. But the portion is much smaller, so if you dine here you may wish to have someone order ther Galbitang or Dakmoraejumeoni as they are of smaller portions and share the remaining Samgyetang that the others can 't finish.
Biwon offers only three dishes on the menu chicken soup, beef soup and chicken gizzard. In contrast to what should normally be light broth, the chicken soup here has a whole chicken in it and the soup is closer to the porridge consistency. It must be a regional style.
Tasty ginseng chicken. Big portion that I can’t finish.
