Contribuiți la feedbackI discovered this stall while looking for a place to eat mock meat and other vegetable dishes. It felt more like street food, and I tried the vegetarian banh tam which included rice noodles, pickles, fried vegetables, vermicelli, vegetarian spring rolls, coconut milk, and sauce. It was a bit too salty for my taste, and I wished there was more coconut milk (which I could request). Overall, it was enjoyable and possibly the best meal I had in Chau Doc. A bowl costs 20k, but since I ordered an extra spring roll, it came to a total of 25k. "Chay" means vegetarian/vegan in Vietnamese. They indicate when dishes are vegetarian.
I stumbled upon this gem while craving a vegetarian meal and stumbled upon a mock meat and vegetable buffet. It felt more like a casual street food experience. The veg banh tam was a delicious combination of rice noodles, pickled vegetables, fried vegetables, vermicelli, veg spring roll, coconut milk, and sauce. While I found it a bit salty for my liking, I wished there was a bit more coconut milk (which you can request). Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and probably the best meal I had in Chau Doc. A bowl costs 20k, but since I ordered an extra spring roll, my total came to 25k. As a Vietnamese speaker, I learned that "CHAY" is the word for vegetarian or vegan. Simply mention that you are a vegetarian when ordering. Updated from a previous review on 2020-07-02.
