The hostess with blond hair working this evening seemed overwhelmed and apathetic. Disappointed in the service (again). We miss the old PF Changs with good service and good food will remember this experience for next time.
Went there for lunch with my wife on a Sunday. We were seated by the hostess but no menues, had to ask for them. Waitress took our order and we ordered the calamari for an appetizer as well as the Mongolian beef and sesame chicken, both lunch size. The calamari had zero flavor, even with the dipping sauce it comes with. The Mongolian beef was a bit salty and the fried rice was flavorless. The sesame chicken was good and the steamed rice was ok, it had more flavor than the fried rice. The tea was excellent. We have eaten at PF Chang many times in the past at different locations and this time was definitely not up to their normal standards. We didn't even bring home the leftovers of the lunch portion. Not sure we will be visiting again.
PF's menu change sets the restaurant back. It is no longer a step above the regular chinese restaurants. Panda express has better selection. So disappointed will not return.
This is by far my favorite Chinese dining establishment. The food is excellent and the service very attentive. The manager, Jeff, and his staff ensured our most recent visit was extremely enjoyable. I encourage you to try Chang's Spicy Chicken and the Honey Shrimp, and I will definitely get the banana spring rolls with coconut pineapple ice cream for dessert on my next visit!
Like most, I’ve tried many locations of this famed upscale Chinese empire, with most being really good, and some better than others. This was my 2nd visit to the Chattanooga location in the past yr, so it’s time to see how this one rates. Please note: As you may already know, PF will set you back about twice the price of normal Chinese carryout. So, expectations are certainly higher than normal. This location, on the outskirts of the mall parking lot, isn’t quite as plush, or maybe feel as upscale as other locations I’ve ventured, but the interior is clean and modern as expected. Ordered my usual, Kung Pao chicken with steamed rice. I’ve this written before: When PF is on its game, as it was here on both visits, their simple but perfect recipe for Kung Pao is the best in the biz. The light breading(just a dusting) on the protein blends perfectly with the “wok hay” of the Szechuan peppers, peanuts, and sauce. To me personally, it’s quite addictive. My wife ordered their chicken fried rice, which was tasty, but nothing really special. Overall though, that Kung Pao carries the load, and the Food still gets a 5… Service was really good as well. Everything brought out hot and in a timely manner: Glasses kept full, and any request met with a smile. Service gets the 5 too… In conclusion: There’s some tasty places in Chattanooga these days to eat; especially in the recent development of the downtown sector. But once in awhile, I’m in the mood for some tasty Chinese, or other: And if so, I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to spend a little more, and head straight to PF Chang’s.
