In Season - Chatswood

In Season is looking a bit tired. The fabric bench needs a good clean and some tables need new covering. We have seen owners come and go and the original vibe and concept has certainly changed. Not sure how a tv screen improves the ambience especially when everyone brings their own screens. The coffee was good. Staff friendly. But it needs a lift.

Just caught up with my mum for lunch here and we couldn't have been happier. We were looking for a welcoming place out of the cold and the rain in Chatswood - no easy task as it turns out! We both had the chicken burger which was one of the best I've had - succulent pounded piece of chicken breast, grilled, with a zesty chilli sauce contrasting with a delightfully light aioli and a touch of tangy lime. With fresh baby spinach leaves and tomato slices, all packed into a fluffy damper roll, it was delicious. We couldn't resist a small serve of beer battered chips to share, which were fat and fluffy and irresistible. The food was delivered promptly, the service was delightful ...and we will be back for sure!

You have to walk about 300m from Chatswood Chase down Victoria Avenue but it is definitely worthwhile. The coffee is fantastic - and the chef's creations are of s very high standard for what appears to be a cafe but I am more included to think of as s restaurant at cafe prices. The menu provides a reasonable selection but when they arrive at the table you feel like you have just ordered a dish from a fine dining restaurant.The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and after your 2nd or 3rd visit they really take the time to get to know you and your food / coffee preferences.

Visited for breakfast and a 'prawn' omellete caught my eye. Not normally a seafood fan for brekky but decided to be adventurous. It was hearty definitely! Generous serving of prawns that were big and crunchy amidst layers of ratatouille and love the cheesy texture. It's a share between me and my daughter but I can say it is not shy on portion. What I love about its menu is a good influence of Turkish and modern Australian. Coffee is well done too.

This was my first visit to the restaurant and I enjoyed the good coffee. I would definitely go back again.
