Contribuiți la feedbackHave you ever walked out of a restaurant feeling drunk, yet you didn't have anything to drink?Well, thank you Yong Tau Fu Laksa for giving me the amazing feeling of my whole body buzzing! It was a whole new level of spice experience. The noodles, tofu and vegetables were also very good.We arrived early in the evening and found a table upstairs; there was still plenty of room. But, the place did fill up by about 7pm. There is free self-service water and tea.
Being of Malaysian Chinese descent and having lived in Australia since the 1980's, I've been on the lookout for authentic Malaysian/Singaporean cuisine in Sydney for my entire life. When I first visited Chef Rasa Sayang a few years ago, I categorically declared to my fellow diners (and anyone else since then who would listen) that I had found the best Char Kway Teow in Sydney. At this point in time, having since dined here and taken away on more occasions than I can remember, I still maintain my stance. To be fair, the standard of Malaysian cuisine around Sydney has risen dramatically over the last 10 years so my goalposts have certainly moved over this time - despite this, CRS (as our family fondly calls it) has never disappointed with every dish I've tried including the War-Tan-Hor, Hainanese Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak to name a few. I'm getting hungry writing this ...
Loved the Prawn Har Mee, and the Laksa - this reminds me of Singapore and Malaysia - authentic tastes. I also noted many Singaporean people eating there. One of the best Prawn Har Mee for some time.
I'm a fan of Rendang and thought I would try this place out It's ideal for a quick lunch The meal cost $14 and the Beef was very tender and super tasty I was so impressed I will be back !
This is the best yong tau foo I've had in Sydney. This is my second visit. My first was over a year ago. While most reviewers are saying that the portion size is very generous, I have to disagree. It used to be but not anymore. And for the price I think it's on the pricey side. We had curry chee cheong fun which was very nice but portion was small. I wish they would give more cheong fun. Laksa yong tau foo was also quite nice and portion size was average but for $15.90 it was on the expensive end. Wat Tan Hor was the third dish we ordered and I would rate this dish 8/10.....very nice 'wok hei'. I will probably try the dinner menu one day but because Chatswood has so many restaurants it will probably be awhile before I return.
