I started with the terrine. much too much terrine. enough for two, maybe even three, except my wife didn't want a terrine. a large cornichone and not enough to end with the terrine. they add cowardly and/or cowardly jam, a little honey even, but definitiw more maisichons. maybe a couple of pfeffer grains or olives and a tapenade, but please give it to the pig a small one that had not lived in it. my bark was not medium or medium good, but I could consume it without thirst. it wasn't bad. music was ****; unknown artists sing up-to-date top 40’s and oldies. I also think that the name of the restaurant on the signage outside on the menus and cards, perhaps the serviettes should be. do not add 3 feet high letters to the wall. that is not a decoration. good traces for eating and service; deductions for too much instead of too little terrine, but failed lack of imagination in presentation, elevator music without elevator and a large amount of wall space associated with the restaurant if they started suffering under dementia or alzheimer.
This was a nice place for a meeting with old friends, as the food is excellent and the setting beautiful. everyone was on the square and I put pictures of the desserts.
The entire experience at les canotiers was excellent. it was easy to find and park, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. the chef came out friendly and explained the menu in English and then the best was eating just fantastic. I can't stress enough how wonderful our meals were, each member of my family of 6 were impressed. we are very pleased to have discovered les canotiers, we will definitely return.
My wife and I have eaten here many times in our three years living in Chatou so I guess we owe Les Canotiers a review. The welcome and service from the lovely couple who run front of house is always perfect, although at times I...have no idea how they manage to keep up, they always do and with good humour. Our French isn 't great, but unlike some places, they let us have fun trying and are patient with their explanations of some of the dishes. The food is modern, simple and tasty, with excellent ingredients (like Bavarian beef). The chef 's terrine is my default entree as it comes as an unlimited 'all you can eat ' portion where you help yourself from the huge bowl, endless bread and pot of great gherkins. There is always a good mix of fish and meat dishes to choose from and the wine list is great, although we usually go with a recommendation and it 's always good. Paris is only 20 minutes on the local train from here yet Les Canotiers makes the trip a risk as the food in Paris is not always as good as this and the service is rarely as good, all for at least twice the price. We 've introduced all of our friends to the restaurant and they 've never been disappointed.
Cela fait quelques temps que nous connaissons ce restaurant. A l'époque des anciens anciens propriétaires, la carte était un peu plus traditionnelle et la qualité des plats était irréprochable. Nous y étions retournés l'année dernière et avions découvert que les propriétaires avaient changés, la carte avait été modernisée ce qui n'était pas sans nous déplaire, et la qualité était toujours au rendez-vous. Et puis, nous y sommes retournés hier soir sans savoir que les propriétaires avaient encore changé. La carte semblait pourtant du même niveau, avec des plats intéressants et qui donnent envie. Pourtant le résultat était un cran en-dessous, c'était bon mais pas aussi bon qu'avant et je dis cela alors que je ne savais pas encore le changement de propriétaire. J'ai été déçue par mon entrée qui était correcte mais pas juste dans l’assaisonnement, c'était bon mais sans plus. Le plat était bon, mais pareil il manquait de finesse. Mon compagnon a été déçu de son dessert qu'il soupçonne d'être industriel. Pour rester positif, on peut dire que les produits sont frais et de bonne qualité, et que les plats sont tout de même bons.Gros bémol et conseil au restaurateur : le pain était vraiment médiocre, il faut absolument changer de boulangerie.Egalement à noter, le service approximatif et long.
