Le Lotus - Châteauguay

The wonton soup at this restaurant is the most comforting and satisfying in the world. I don't often bring my kids here because Asian food is my guilty pleasure, not theirs. Everything on the menu is delicious and there are no disappointments.

Three stars for service and atmosphere, but honestly I found the food bland and disappointing especially with all of these race reviews. First time I ever needed to use salt pepper at an Asian restaurant. The coffee was good though!

Our experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. The service was terrible, as the waiter aggressively pushed their table d'hôte menu on us even after we expressed disinterest. When he finally took our order, his attitude was unpleasant. The bill was carelessly dropped on our table and we were instructed to pay inside, with no friendly demeanor from the staff. The food was mediocre at best, lacking authenticity, spice, and flavor. The curry tasted primarily of coconut cream, was overloaded with yellow onions, and lacked any discernible spices. The pad thai also had an excessive amount of onions and celery, with no flavor, spice, peanuts, green onions, or tofu. We would not consider returning, as we prefer a friendly and courteous atmosphere at restaurants.

We were never offered drink menus or the opportunity to order drinks, so we settled for water. Throughout the meal, no one came to our table to check if everything was satisfactory or to refill our drinks. Towards the end of the meal, a waiter offered coffee to one person at our table, but when she declined, he simply walked away without acknowledging the rest of us who wanted coffee, tea, and dessert. When we asked to pay, we were surprised to learn that the restaurant only accepted cash and had a $1 transaction fee at their on-site ATM. This information should have been communicated to us before we ordered, especially since none of us had cash on hand. The food was below average, expensive, and the lack of customer service was disappointing. Despite the nice ambiance, none of us were inclined to return to this establishment.

When we finished to eat and went to pay off, one of the staff said to my friend that he was cheap after he gave her 40$ tip, by the way the food was very good.
