I tried the rabbit rillette and halibut, both of which were delicious with unexpected flavors. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience.
The food was wonderful. All four of us had the Migneron cheese pastries with maple cream sauce. It was to die! Three of us had duck breast and one had Butternuss-Quark Gnocchi. Everybody was great. Desserts were two sugarcakes and a sorbet. Yeah, there was a liter of wine and a coffee. It was a great experience. We arrived early (5:30) and were the only customers for a while. That said it was a lot a weekday in low season and the place started until the time we left. We tried to make reservations for Saturday, but they were fully booked; Friday night worked.
It is out of beaten path and we found it randomly, but enjoyed the experience so will definitely come back! The ambience, the food, the waitress all excellent. The only negative point was very slow service. We came around 6 and around 6;45 our first... order was taken. As always the music and the charm of the place let us relax and we didn't want to go.
This is a beautiful restaurant in a classic Quebecois house from the 1700s. The one waiter was just amazing. The place was full and he kept everything moving! The Duo Quebecois reminded me of dinner with my great aunt Pierrette in Ferme Neuve! Boullettes... and touring like wonderful! The beet salad was a beautiful opening and the tarte au sucre was delightful!
Great Quebec ambience in an old inn with a wood fire. The scallop appetizer was excellent, and the wine list has good variety and reasonable prices. The beef entree with Bernaise sauce was very well prepared, with a nice selection of well prepared and tasty...vegetables. The bread was disappointing, like sliced white from a bag. The salmon and seafood entree was fine, salmon and rice were a bit dry but the shrimp, scallops and vegetables were very good. The tarte au sucre was also a bit disappointing- it seems the inn needs to find a good Baker!
