Le Petit Bistro - Chartres

After reading the reviews I expected good quality fresh food. Unfortunately, what we got was awful - the worst gazpacho I ever had, made with very salty commercial tomato paste or ketchup. I could not eat it. Next came squid - again very salty, old and poorly cooked. The red wine by glass must have cost less than 2 euros for a bottle. Very disappointing.

The food was fine (but a very limited menu) and the room is pleasant, but the service was surly, rude and disrespectful.

Very central location but may need to book. The service was very good and the food excellent. The portions were of a good size and a wide choice to suit most tastes.

Just had a great meal here, found while wandering aimlessly around the cathedral in the evening, very friendly, attentive staff, would definately recommend a visit.

Lovely place with good food though a little pricy. My friend had Moelle à l'os rôti, first time and it was delicious. The ambiance is relaxed with young friendly waiters. We'll come back for sure.
