Sovereign Tavern - Charters Towers

The Sovereign Hotel was open for food and we chose to try their magnificent Schnitzels. When we arrived, no other pubs in town were open for dinner, so we were lucky to finally try this lovely, clean, and cool pub. I was expecting the Schnitzels to be thin, but they turned out to be huge and tender beef Schnitzels that were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the garlic prawn topper on the side, which came with 4 prawns and a tasty garlic sauce that we enjoyed with our chips. I asked for extra lemon to squeeze on my Schnitzel, making the experience even more heavenly. The Schnitzels were $25.50 and the topper was $8. The manager was very friendly and even held the menu for us to see what other great items they had to offer. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and I highly recommend dining at this pub.

The dinner service at this restaurant is fast and friendly, with generously portioned meals. We enjoyed the chicken parmesan and deep fried Camembert, both of which were delicious. One of our group members had an issue with their order, but the staff quickly resolved it and provided excellent customer service.

The bistro opens for dinner at 5:30pm. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have croquettes. It took 12 minutes to receive my food after ordering at 5:30pm. I ordered the chicken schnitzel with mushroom sauce, salad, and chips and it was delicious. The bar staff checked that I had completed my COVID check-in upon entering, which was efficient. Both the bar and bistro staff were friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The restaurant has a nice modern environment. I would recommend booking ahead to ensure you get a table.

Overpriced , long wait times, very average meals, wouldn't eat here again.

The Sovereign Hotel was open to food and great carvings were what we chose... No pubs in the city when we arrived were open for dinner only drinks... lucky for us, as we intend to try this beautiful clean and cool pub for a while...we will be the cuts I thought will be thin as they are usually... but these beef chips were huge and tender as you would not believe! So delicious I never had such an amazing scavenger... we also ordered the garlic grilled funnels on the side and we had 4 yarns and dipped our chips into the garlic sauce when I, after extra lemon on my scavenger... Schnitzels $25.50 and the topper$8...i asked the manager to keep the menu so you can see what a great menu they have! Really cool guy... you're gonna love it here
