Caravelli Italian - Charnwood

I dined at this restaurant last night with friends, and unfortunately, my suggestion left us all feeling slightly disappointed. Each of us ordered different dishes, but we all felt that the portion sizes were lacking. I have eaten here before and never encountered this issue, so I suspect that the portions may have been reduced to keep prices competitive. Personally, I would prefer to pay a bit more for a more satisfying meal. Despite this, the food was excellent, but the portion sizes were a downside. The restaurant had a good amount of staff who provided excellent service. Additionally, it's worth noting that a service charge was included in the bill, although it was not clearly stated, leading some customers to unintentionally add a tip.

Superb service and fantastic food. Mid week and a really good atmosphere. Quality , fresh food served with a smile and knowledgable wine recommendations. Also stayed over in one of their guest rooms...quirky and spotless.

Managed to get a last minute reservation on a weekday evening, staff helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, the 3 small plates offer is enough to share between 2 people on the side of a main. Chicken with mushroom was lovely.

An amazing Italian meal for an Italian, it was my first time and I can't wait to go back again. Thank you so much, we will see each other soon.

We had a fantastic time at this restaurant, with a warm and friendly owner and staff including Massimo, Alessandro, and Lauren. They took great care of us, especially considering one of our group had a severe nut allergy. The food was amazing! We will definitely be booking again when we come to visit our daughter at university.
