The Whiskey Jar - Charlottesville

Unbelievable! We had to wait a while until we had to sit, but we had a big party of 6. Waiting was worth it. Not only were there tons of drinks available, but also the selection of dishes was impressive. The appetizers and the food were very good. Both came out quickly. I probably had one of the best French dives of my life. The service was consistent and polite. All in all, it was a perfect way to end a great day in the Charlottesville area.

GREAT Restaurant. Not the cheapest option, but it's legit. I like the drinks and the drinks menu festival. Great if you like to taste whiskeys and bourbons. Eating is also really good, but maybe not as good as the drinks. they have a decent terrace area. Parking can be hard, but there are spots around. Worth your time!

Great restaurant in Downtown Charlottesville. Great prices, better drinks and really good food! Although busy, the server was over everything and made sure we were taking care of. The outdoor seats offer plenty of shade and the music was perfect for a cold lunch on Friday afternoon.

A Charlottesville needs lunch or dinner. I was here several times and had nothing but amazing food and drinks. Cocktails, wine and beer with a beautiful whisky list. A varied menu with something that appeals to every palate. Excellent service and staff also. Right in the heart of downtown Charlottesville at the west end of the Wander Mall. Don't miss this place!

Food 5/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 5/5 Value 5/5 Best burger in town (the smoke house pork burger with whiskey bbq) and possibly the best fried chicken in town (entree). Incredible whiskey selection. Live folk music on Saturdays. It seems on paper to be “more of the same souther food” but they really are a cut above the rest. The Whiskey Jar is doing everything right.
