The Pink Grouse Quirk Charlottesville

I ordered the fish with potatoes and asparagus, and it tasted like something from a basic frozen meal. The vegetables were barely cooked and lacked any sauce or seasoning. The fish was thin and dry. Our server hardly checked on us, and when he finally did, I asked for some salt and pepper, but it hardly made a difference. My friends ordered the oyster mushroom dish (which was unappetizing) and the linguini (which was the best of the three, but it was swimming in liquid from the mussels). To top it all off, our server never cleared away our appetizer dishes, leaving crumbs on the table, which feels odd for a restaurant where the entrees are around $40 each. If I could turn back time, I would have chosen one of the many fantastic restaurants in Charlottesville instead of the Pink Grouse.

A true culinary masterpiece! As a food enthusiast, I was delighted by every dish, from the Q Salad to the Branzino and Short Ribs, ending with exquisite desserts. A big thank you to Chef Chuck Adcock for the impeccable preparation and presentation. The table service was warm, attentive, and professional, with the staff working seamlessly together. While the ambiance may not be to everyone's taste, the fabulous food and outstanding service certainly make it worth a visit. Hats off to Food and Beverage Manager Stephen Kelly for transforming Pink Grouse. This was an exceptional dining experience!

The food was just okay, but not nearly worth the price. The restaurant was completely empty, which made the ambiance less than appealing. When we made our reservation, it asked if we were coming for any special occasion. My husband put in that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it was not mentioned once by any of the staff. We spent $75 on just our main course alone and left hungry and disappointed.

I had a positive experience at the restaurant. The waitress was very helpful, but she was working alone and could have used some additional support.

The food is very tasty, but the service is poor. The server brought me my check without me asking for it, without asking me if I wanted dessert, and despite it being early, and me being there for less than one hour in a 3/4 empty restaurant, and after having ordered the most expensive items on the menu. There was absolutely no reason for him to bring me the check at that time. This is poor service, which is a pity because the food is good. I will not return.
