If you want a good into to Korean food try the bulgogi here. They also have some drinking challenges for the undergrad culture at UVa, if you?re into that.
The food was ok. But I was charged more tip than I gave. I also wrote the total amount on the receipt so it?s definitely on purpose. If you didn?t find the tip satisfied you should let me know, but shouldn?t have charged more. (FYI I gave $9 but I was charged $13. 4 bucks is not a big deal but it just feels so strange.
Kuma is a charming little restaurant offering Korean and Japanese cuisine. I believe it's the only place in Charlottesville where you can enjoy takoyaki and okonomiyaki. Both the takoyaki and bibimbap were excellent, and during previous visits, I discovered that the spicy seafood udon was absolutely amazing. The okonomiyaki had an impressive variety of seafood, including octopus, squid, scallops, mussels, and shrimp, but it was quite unusual. Instead of the traditional cabbage, it featured onions, carrots, and bean sprouts, and the batter was lacking.
Such a gem hiding on the corner. The food is great and well priced. Service was awesome and there is even a convenient parking garage right across the street. Highly recommend Kuma, and most importantly I finally found a restaurant in cville that serves takoyaki! ??????
Fantastic food at a reasonable price! The restaurant is quite small, which means the dishes arrive extremely fresh. While it’s a bit pricey (as sushi often is), I believe it offers excellent value for the quality. There’s a wide variety of great options, including unique dishes like takoyaki that you won’t find at other places. I highly recommend it!
