Kindness Cafe Play - Charlottesville

This restaurant features a lovely new patio with sun shades, as well as an open interior café area. It's a great spot to enjoy a good cup of coffee. While the snack items are a bit small, they are quite tasty and could use a little more substance. The place is popular with families and health-conscious individuals, likely due to its location within the Charlottesville YMCA, which is quite impressive.

You won’t find kinder people anywhere else! Even though we don’t know each other personally, just trust me on this. They truly make it enjoyable to spend time there, and you’ll find yourself wanting to return. Every visit, I’ve savored everything from coffee to lattes to smoothies. The prices are on par with many coffee shops, but the portions are more generous, making it a great value. They also have adorable gift baskets and thoughtful gift ideas if you’re looking to brighten someone’s day while supporting a wonderful business with a meaningful mission. The atmosphere is lovely, bright, and always spotless. I can’t wait for them to open another location since I haven't been able to work out as much as I'd like or get to the Y frequently. In short, as I write this, I’m craving kindness!

Here, you have the option to take advantage of the Y’s extensive facilities—such as weights, aerobic machines, an indoor track, and a pool—and then savor a post-workout coffee or baked treat. Alternatively, you can simply visit for the coffee and food, relaxing in a quiet lobby area with a variety of seating options, all bathed in natural light from a large glass wall. To top it off, the Café’s mission is to operate as a nonprofit coffee shop that employs adults with cognitive disabilities. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place offers something special on multiple levels!

Delightful serive with a smile! It's obvious as well that with time, the young women with special needs serving me has learned great skill and confidence. Which made my coffee that much more delicious.
