Contribuiți la feedbackThis is only my third visit, but it's quickly becoming a family favorite. There's truly no other place like it in Virginia, which is impressive in itself. Most people tend to visit during the summer and fall, and I was one of them. But this spot offers so much more than just apples, despite that being its reputation. On my recent visit, the peaches were absolutely stunning! The shop features a wide array of fresh produce that you shouldn't overlook. And make sure to try their famous cider donuts – they are a must! The location is convenient, just off Highway 64, so follow the signs to get there. The drive up the mountain can be a bit steep, so be prepared for that. There’s plenty of parking once you reach the top, and the views are breathtaking!
The sign outside says no pets allowed. The orchard is lovely, and visitors can pick their own fruits. They also offer ice cream and apple donuts.
Let's begin with the view—absolutely stunning! Although it was too early for apple picking, the scenery was perfect for soaking it all in. The staff were incredibly friendly, just as delightful as the warm apple cider donuts. Speaking of those donuts—the cinnamon sugar coating provided a perfect crunch that complemented the soft, cake-like texture. The staff suggested returning in the fall, possibly in November. I definitely won't need a second invitation; we’ll be back for sure!
I finally made to the top...of VA: Went to get some warm doughnuts on a chilly day and they were pretty good. Although the orchard is dormant the view is still quite spectacular. Customers were coming and going so it was continually busy. The outside area looks like win it's warmer that it is a great hangout spot to grab a drink and commune with nature and the apples.
Review based on experience from 2015, 2017 Came here a number of times when I visited Charlottesville. Came for apple picking and also just to enjoy the sunset. Orchard picking is always fun. The maintain their orchard well. Of course if you got the tail end of the pickings, they have a market where you can buy pre-picked items. As with most orchards you can buy extras like apple butter, apple cider, apple cider donuts, etc. They often have events during the spring/summer/fall. Particularly around sunset. We came one time during the summer and it was packed. They had live music and wine tastings. They were also selling peach slushies, which was very refreshing on a hot summer's day. Because it is located on the mountain, expect a bit of elevation change and a drive up to lot.
