Contribuiți la feedbackFood Morning Soooo Yay I had a wonderful food-cation day at What the Fries in Charlotte @whatthefriesclt. These aren't just fries. They are pushing the boundaries of what you can do with fries. Its a gourmet fry experience. Chef Jaimie, Chef Greg and their team are really on one with this concept. The Steak Hibachi fries were on point and were bountiful with flavor. For a little diversity, they offer a huge Oxtail Quesadilla that was hot and delicious. The Oxtails were full of flavor and super tender. I also had an order of their sweet and spicy jumbo chicken wings. The were bomb.com as well. The decor inside the place is very upbeat with a true classy hip hop vibe. Old skool Biggie was on the radio when we walked in so we were immediately on the vibe. Not only is the food amazing but the experience of it all as soon as you step inthe door, makes the drive i made from VA worth it. The food portions are plentiful. The cashier and manager and staff all greet and address you with loving arms. The Art Deco and graffiti walls encompass the culture that defines this establishment. Now the food, huge portions — no way you can eat it without sharing it. Had the cheese steak, lobster Mac and cheese, and banana pudding in a cup. ALL OF IT was mouth watering delicious. Definitely worth the trip to Charlotte….!!
I my favorite food is fries!! And My husband decided what better place for my birthday than a place all about FRIES?! I was so pleased and beyond satisfied by this place. The location was easy to get too, as we came from Duncan sc to get here. The staff was welcoming which I was really happy about as i am a review reader, and seen a review stating they got glares n stares “maybe bc they were white” were their words to be exact, but i cant see it happening as a “white” couple came in behind us and were greeted just as we were and served with manner as us. They had many options. We enjoyed the food the burger was BOMB and the food will definitely fill up. Theres no stingy portions here! They serve CHEERWINE (i dont like soda but when i want it i want CHEERWINE) so yet another win in my book. The place was clean and sanitary bathrooms clean, the wait for food was great as its cook to order. The energy and vibes of this place is everything i wanted today. I shall be back they will get used to seeing me. Give them n try you will enjoy it! I can say with CONFIDENCE These are the BEST FRIES I HAVE HAD. I live to find good fries and this is IT!!
Tried this place yesterday. The bread pudding is amazing and probably the best desert there if you can manage eating it after all those fries. The mac and cheese fries are my favorite so far. Friendly staff too.
I finally got to try this food truck when they visited UNCC today. I got the hibachi chicken fries. The fries are crispy, tender, and well-seasoned, and they're even tastier when combined with fried chicken and vegetables. I think they're the best fries I've had in Charlotte, with the possible exception of the version at Good Wurst Deli. Of course I wouldn't want to eat like this every day. I do wish they had something to drink besides bottled water and soda.
