The Asbury - Charlotte

This was our third visit to the restaurant. They recently began opening on Sunday evenings, but if they don't have many reservations, they close early. We arrived at 6:30 PM and were informed that the kitchen would close at 7 PM that night. As always, the food was excellent, but we were not offered dessert or coffee because they wanted us to leave. Despite that, it was still a pleasant experience, and since we were the only customers, it was very quiet. We had attempted to dine here about three weeks ago, but it was packed, and I hadn't made a reservation. I recommend checking the schedule for any football games, concerts, or other events that might affect their hours.

Everything was absolutely delicious and truly enjoyable! I loved the whole experience.

Exceptional food however dining room too bright, music to loud and needs blinds in window. Will return for the food however.

Shout out to Timothy Groody at the Asbury! We booked the Asbury for Dinner Before the Show, which is a great value and conveniently close to Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.  Just make sure you book enough time to dine before your show! We had some issues with our service that he addressed and made our experience outstanding. The Wine List is superb and the ambiance was very nice.

They’ve replaced the signature chicken and collard greens with a lackluster hot honey chicken and waffles dish. The brine on the chicken left a strange, pickle-like tang that lingered unpleasantly and overwhelmed the entire meal to the point where it was inedible. My husband ordered the burger and remarked that it was completely unseasoned. We hoped a Bloody Mary could salvage the experience, but it was nearly devoid of vodka, lacked garnish, and the tomato juice was watered down. It was such a disappointment! We won't be returning.
