Pio Pio - Charlotte

The restaurant did not meet my expectations. I would rate the service and customer service as a 6 out of 10. I understand it was close to 9 PM, but the waitress really should have paid more attention to the customers. I was searching for a nice Peruvian restaurant in Charlotte based on the reviews I’d seen, but my lomo saltado was nothing like a genuine lomo dish, and the jalea was also quite far from the authentic version. This restaurant has potential, but it needs to improve the quality of its food and provide better training for its employees. It has the right tools, but there is still work to be done.

I waited for over an hour for my meal, and my food arrived before the salad and appetizers. The restaurant was packed, and there were only two waitstaff who seemed to be struggling with the order system. I ordered a glass of wine that was listed on the menu, but it wasn't available in their system. To make matters worse, the waiter offered us dessert before our food had even arrived. I've dined here before and had a great experience, but this time was one of the worst I've ever had. If I could give negative stars, I absolutely would.

The chicken was not fresh and was served cold. When I informed the server, she simply apologized and didn’t offer to bring a fresh plate. This is why she didn’t receive a tip from me. Additionally, I never received any oil and vinegar for my salad, which made the meal even worse. If you enjoy cold, old food and poor service, then this place might be for you. However, I will never return. I used to dine at the location on Lancaster Hwy several times a week.

If I can give you guys a zero I would. I am highly disappointed about the portion I got for 12.50 and it should?ve been like 7.50. This would be the last time PioPio ever see another bill from me. Simply MM

I visited this restaurant and tried the "Pollo a la brasa," which was absolutely spot on. I also sampled the "Jalea," which I typically compare to calamari, and it was incredibly delicious! They did a fantastic job with the food. I can't wait to return! The service was excellent as well. Food rating: 5/5.
