Persis Biryani Indian Grill North Charlotte

I'm writing this review based on a takeout order. The food was quite delicious. Although the wait time was a bit longer than expected, it was still manageable.

Wow! I just had some of the best Indian food I've ever tasted! I ordered the Chicken Marsala and the Navrathan Korma, and they were absolutely amazing! Thank you so much! I've been coming to Persis on and off for years but never took the time to write a review. You always serve us exceptional and delicious dishes, which I truly appreciate as a food lover. Plus, the staff is always friendly and welcoming, whether I dine in or order delivery. You all are fantastic! Thank you again! I apologize for not taking any pictures; I devoured it too quickly!

We decided to get takeout from this restaurant after hearing so much about their biryani. We placed our order while on our way, and it was ready on time (in 45 minutes). We sampled the samosa chaat, paneer biryani, and chili garlic egg fried rice. The portion sizes, prices, and taste were all excellent. The samosa chaat was perfectly spiced and very tasty. The paneer biryani was both flavorful and satisfying. My husband tried the chili garlic egg fried rice; while he felt it wasn’t the best he’s had, he still found it acceptable. Overall, the food was great, and I would definitely return to try more items from the menu!

The goat pepper fry was more like shredded goat meat with a heavy dose of black pepper and onions, but it was completely lacking in salt. Check out the photo I took. I also ordered the kadai chicken, but it didn't taste good either. The gravity base dish was the worst thing I've ever tried. Unfortunately, I've found that there are no authentic Indian restaurants in North Charlotte.

The food is decent, but I have a tip for you: when ordering Biryani, make sure to request that the meat be cooked thoroughly. I’ve been there four times, and most of the time the meat hasn’t been cooked well. The service can take a long time; it’s possible they cook everything fresh, but not everyone has the patience to wait 40 minutes for their order. Additionally, be sure to double-check your order with your waiter or another staff member, as they often make mistakes, and you definitely don’t want to wait that long only to receive part of your order. For instance, I thought I ordered Biryani, which typically takes longer to prepare, but I also ordered starters and fresh lime soda that were supposed to come with it, so there’s definitely room for improvement in their service.
