The buffet at this restaurant was just average. They have a staff member making fresh rolls behind the counter. We asked for a tuna roll, as the selection of rolls they were making was unusual.
This restaurant is a good option for a budget-friendly all-you-can-eat meal. They offer a variety of sushi, mostly fried and rice-heavy, as well as a few other dishes.
I have visited this restaurant many times over the past 6 months. I always loved creating my own bento box and the spring rolls were delicious. I went to dinner with a friend tonight and unfortunately, there was a sign outside saying they are closed as of today, 9/26. Very disappointing.
I should preface each of my comments in this review with '... for the price.' The food was decent, considering the price. The selection was average, considering the price. You get the idea. The rice wasn't the best, and the buffet was quite basic, but you won't find better Asian food for a lower price in the university area. Additionally, you won't leave Bento's feeling hungry as the portions are generous, and the buffet offers unlimited servings. If the prices were any higher, I would give it three stars, but it truly is a good deal for less than ten dollars per person. The staff has always been attentive, and I've enjoyed spending time with friends at the sushi bar. My girlfriend is more selective about Asian cuisine, but Bento is a good option if you're not seeking a fancy dining experience.
