Lotus Chinese Cuisine - Charlotte

I have dined at LOTUS Chinese Cuisine several times and have also ordered takeout. On September 20, 2009, I ordered two lunches, but one of them contained spoiled food. The rice was slimy, had an off taste, and smelled bad. When I called the restaurant, I spoke to someone who claimed to be the manager. Despite my attempts to explain that the food delivered to me was spoiled, she hung up on me. I called back, and she hung up again. This happened about four times over the course of 30 minutes. Eventually, I shared that I was feeling ill and reminded her that I am a breastfeeding mother. As a newcomer in the Charlotte area, I’ve decided that I won’t be returning to LOTUS Chinese Cuisine. Right now, I’m on my way to the doctor to ensure my baby stays healthy, as I’ve been vomiting twice and want to make sure my baby doesn’t get sick.

The chicken roast rice is EXCELLENT. I love the real chicken in it. I usually have to ask her to freeze the chicken wings a little more. Overall, the food is pretty good.

Food is great! Huge portions and they deliver to the UNCC area. The crispy chicken is ineffective...forget it with all white meat! Love of shrimp fried rice too!! Great food and they're coming here pretty fast. For some time ordered...

I've visited this restaurant many times in the past and had good experiences. However, I recently returned and had the worst meal I've ever had. Everything had a very unpleasant (bathy) taste. The hot and sour soup tasted like it had been reused. I believe this place has lost its touch. It feels unkempt and dirty now. The restaurant is poorly managed, and it seems that the food is prepared by inexperienced young staff.

The portion sizes were generous, but the fried wings and chicken dish lacked flavor. I had to add some extra ingredients to make it enjoyable instead of throwing it away. Additionally, the prices were a bit higher than anticipated, and the menu didn’t include any combo meals.
