Located in the Providence Park area, Eddie 's has cemented itself as a neighborhood gem. The service here is just as memorable as the setting. My waitress, Cat, who 's been a mainstay here for seven years, was an absolute doll. She usually works during dinner hours, bringing cheer and expert recommendations. Speaking of recommendations, the menu at Eddie 's is a delightful dilemma because of its vast array of choices. From breakfast classics like eggs and pancakes to customizable salads and sandwiches, there 's something for everyone. The house specialties--Rueben, Shrimp and Grits, and house-made salad dressings--only scratch the surface of what 's on offer. And let 's not forget the daily specials; the BBQ Ribs on Friday sounded tempting, while the Prime Rib on Tuesday and Chimichangas on Monday are crowd-pleasers. Cat kindly offered samples of the Chicken and Tuna Salad, both house-made and delightful, perfect for a light sandwich or atop a fresh salad. Starting my meal, I opted for the highly recommended She Crab Soup, accompanied by saltine crackers and a side of sherry to add as you please. Rich and indulgent, it 's a must-try for newcomers--just be ready for its hearty richness if you plan on a full meal. Keeping things fun, I went with a Nathan 's hotdog all the way on a toasted bun, topped with chili, cheese, and mustard. For the side, I couldn 't resist the bacon smoked Gouda Mac and cheese, complemented by a pickle spear. Despite typically avoiding overly saucy options, this mac and cheese was irresistibly creamy and flavorful--a hit for even a discerning palate! Eddie 's Place is now a top recommendation of mine for anyone in the area, and I 'm already planning my next visit--perhaps for a weekend breakfast to satisfy a craving. Just a tip: it gets busy, so plan ahead! This neighborhood staple has truly won my heart, not just for the food, but for the friendly staff and neighborly feeling.
If you're looking for a local hidden gem with a great variety of food down home genuine service- Eddie's place is for you. This place is truly hidden in a small plaza (plenty of parking). First time here and I can't wait to come back. Stopped in for Sunday brunch- be prepared to wait unless you get there early or get lucky like we did and belly up to the bar. Bartenders were attentive and very helpful deciding on what to get. Nestled between 2 regulars- they were very friendly/helpful as well. I wish I lived closer to the area, Eddies would make a fabulous go to neighborhood bar. We ordered the creamy cajun pasta with blackened chicken the shrimp and grits. Holy smokes was the pasta delicious! I'm not sure if it was the sauce, sausage, blackened chicken or the complete combo but an absolute must! The shrimp and grits were tasty as well, but I wish the shrimp weren't so small. The bread that comes with the dishes is pretty special as well. 10/10 recommend dipping them in the entree sauces. They have daily food drink specials that the regulars rave about. I definitely plan on coming back. Pro tip- get a side salad and try their homemade habanero ranch. Soooo good!
Can't believe it's been five years since my wife, and I have been here but we don't get to the Cotswold Area very often except for Horizon Eye and Novant Orthopedic and Sports Medicine This time Susan had an appointment with Novant for pain in her knees. Last time, biggest complaint was service was slow. Not this time. Excellent and prompt service from the time we walked in the door till we left. Nice menu and when I looked at the Specials for today, I knew what Susan was going to order and I was right. She went for the Chicken Pot Pie, and she proclaimed in was one of the best ever. I will admit it looked great and very plentiful portions. I went with one of my favorites was a half of a Muffuletta and a side of Onion Rings. Had a choice of hot or cold sandwich and while I normally get the sandwich cold, decided to go with the hot sandwich. This was probably a mistake because it was somewhat greasy and the fat in the Mortadella melted added to it. Portion sizes were very good, and the Onion Rings were nice and crispy. We got there just the lunch rush but got in and out in just over 30 minutes. Will be back next time we come down to this area.
It's a lovely breakfast spot. It's nice to find a place serving all day breakfast. Wide seating area with booths, tables, or the bar if inclined. Service was quick and fast. We were seated immediately, and our waitress saw we lacked for nothing! Kirsten was on point with glasses of water, condiments, and breakfast item suggestions Just wanted a simple breakfast but hearty. Got my wish, and my tummy was happy. It's a neighborhood staple with a large menu of items and also some great drinks! Stop in and try them out.
This place is a Charlotte staple and for good reason. This trip involved their muffelata (sp? you only need the half. Unless you're ordering one for the whole family. It's SO good get it hot! Their fries are also fresh cut and reminded me of the boardwalk fries in NJ. My daughter gets excited for breakfast at odd times, so she did the kids breakfast plate. If you're a grits fan, like my daughter, you need to get their grits!! Come hungry. Leave happy. Expect a wait. Don't sleep on Eddie's place!
