Chopt Creative Salad Co. - Charlotte

I had never tried Chopt before and was pretty excited to see what all the fuss was about. It was pretty cool to see your salad being made right in front of you! The sourdough bread slice was the most perfect touch and was so so good. The salad tasted really good too, I wish there was just a tad more cheese in it but I guess that would be on me for not asking for more. I will say that it realllyyyy upset my stomach about an hour after eating it.

It's was a very refreshing salad that made me very happy for what I had chosen. The combination of the toppings had me floored. Plus, I was able to taste test the dressing before I made my choice.The person preparing my sald made sure it was done well and well coated in dressing.

I don't know if we hit it on a bad day or what. Location is clean and comfortable. But we ordered two salads. The premise of the restaurant is like subway with salads. The guy building the salads was so busy jamming to the music he built one very wrong he was told, grabbed a few pieces of wrong ingredient threw it in trash left the rest in and just kept right on going. Result a salad with ingredient I wad allergic to and couldn't eat. Not going back.

I ordered an almost $40 salad from this place and I found a long strand of black hair in it. When calling this place they told me to contact DoorDash and seemed completely uninterested in the service I experienced. This is the SECOND gross experience I had with them and will NEVER be ordering from this location again. How nasty. And with this hair embedded into the salad, I can’t imagine it was just an oversight. Extremely disappointed because I had taken a bite out of a salad with human hair in it. Super nasty and HORRIFIC customer service. Bag was completely unopened and secured when dropped off from dasher, this was on the restaurant entirely

I’m sad to write this review on our favorite salad chain but I feel obligated to warn others. We don’t have a Chopt location in our state so whenever my daughter and I travel we look forward to it, even planning our vacation around it almost. We’ve been to all the NYC locations, the Atlanta location and now this one. I was here on Friday evening 4/21/23. As always we both get the Mexican Goddess dressing which we usually get a bottle of the dressing to go. Unfortunately we started eating our salads and we were like wow this is extremely spicy. I’m a spicy food eater and have never encountered a spice challenge I couldn’t win, I even carry hot sauce in my purse lol. But after a couple minutes our lips were on fire! We didn’t know what to do, but it really started to hurt a lot so I decided to take the salads back. After informing the employees, I ended up talking to 4 and each one didn’t seem to have a worried reaction so I repeated myself multiple times even asking them to pull the dressing off the line. They did not bother and kept working on other salads. They did remake our salads though but the burning did not stop. I believe there was pepper oil from the jalapeños that got on our skin around our lips. My vacation was nearly ruined, I couldn’t hardly eat anything. Hot foods or anything with vinegar would start the burning again. It feels like a sunburn on my lips. I purchased chapstick and tried that but it is now Monday and my lips are still burning and blistered.
