Contribuiți la feedbackThe restaurant is located in a good spot, but unfortunately the food was not good at all. The tofu scramble tasted overwhelmingly of soy sauce. Thankfully, the waitress noticed that I didn't eat it and removed it from the bill. That's why I'm giving it 2 stars.
My wife and I had the Vegan Tofu Scramble at Flying Biscuit and we were pleasantly surprised. We have tried tofu scrambles at various restaurants and made them ourselves, but could never find one we enjoyed. Despite our initial skepticism, we were always pleased with everything we had tried at Flying Biscuit before going vegan. The dish had a distinct tamari flavor, but we really liked it. The waitress was very helpful and informed us that the biscuits included in the breakfast were not vegan. We appreciated her thoughtfulness. Although we wish there were more vegan options on the menu, we were grateful to have at least one choice available, which is more than many other breakfast restaurants offer. It wouldn't be fair to rate Flying Biscuit poorly when they are making an effort to provide a viable vegan option, something many of their competitors do not offer.
The server was friendly and well-informed. The restaurant offers two vegan dishes, one of which is the tofu eggs. Unfortunately, I found the dish to be lacking in flavor, as it was essentially just tofu marinated in tamari sauce with a few vegetables mixed in.
My wife, I had the Vegan Tofu Scramble and was very happy. We've already tried some tofu scrambbles in restaurants and ourselves and never could find one we liked. For this reason we were skeptical to go into them, but always had very satisfied with everything we got from Flying Biscuit before we vegan. Yes, there was a pronounced tamari taste, but we really enjoyed it. The waitress was very helpful. When she brought out our breakfast, she told us when we were vegan, just to know that the cookies (which come with breakfast) are not. We appreciated her that she let us know. We want more vegan options to be safe. But it's still something, and there are more than many breakfast restaurants. How can I evaluate them badly if at least one viable option if most of their competitors do not.
The waitress was very nice and knowledgeable. There are two vegan options. I had the Tofu eggs. They weren't good at all. It was only tofu soaked in Tamari with some vegetables.
