The Shop At Dovetail - Charlestown

We stumbled upon this hidden gem located just a block and a half from USS Constitution and we're so glad we decided to give it a try. Our server, Emilie, was delightful and provided excellent recommendations for vegan options as well as delicious choices for my husband. The food was outstanding - my husband's lobster roll was packed full of lobster and incredibly tasty, while the persimmon salad was a flavorful treat. We recently hosted a post-christening party for a group of 40 at Dovetail and had an amazing experience! The planning process was simple, the food and service were fantastic, and the prices were reasonable. Our entire family couldn't stop talking about the delicious food and great atmosphere. We highly recommend planning a large event with Dovetail, they are the best in the business.

Charming, cozy, and delicious food. We loved sitting in the courtyard, sipping cocktails, trying the ceviche, and indulging in the Friday special Fried Chicken. The ceviche was amazing, although we wished they had provided more chips as the five tortilla chips weren't sufficient. The fried chicken was a bit dry for my taste; as a Mississippi native, I expect my fried chicken to be greasy, and this version was lacking in that aspect.

One of my favorite restaurants in Boston for contemporary American and Italian food. This has been one of my go-to spots for pasta dinner, and I really enjoyed my recent brunch experience here as well. Their handmade pasta has an amazing texture, andI?m especially fan of their fat spaghetti. The local clams spaghetti and the sausage ragu rigatoni are also great, and theirminimal seasoning helps highlight their textures. While no longer offered, tomato braised calamari was also one of my favoritesas the mix of tomato sauce and lemon was an excellent pairing with the calamari. When I recently took my friend here for brunch,I was disappointed to hear that they don?t serve pasta, but I still liked all the menus that we tried. Huevos rancheros was amore filling meal overall, but I also liked the coconut milk mussels that came with fragrant Thai spices and an interesting kickfrom the chili. Since they don?t take reservations, the wait times are usually around 30 minutes for dinner, but they?recertainly worth the wait. The wait times are definitely shorter for brunch, but I would highly recommend trying their dinnermenus first.

The service gets six stars!! Ate at the bar and had lovely conversations with everyone. They were attentive, helpful and fun to hang out with. I'm going to have to return and try some of the seafood since that is their specialty. I really enjoyed themushroom toast. The steak was good, nothing exciting enough to make me scream from the rafters. I'll definitely be back just tohang with the amazing people that work there.
