I'm not sure what makes this place so special. The bouncers are very friendly, but it's really just a two-story bar—nothing extraordinary. There's definitely nothing upscale enough to warrant a dress code.
The bar itself was fine; my issue was really with the crowd, which just seemed to be getting younger. It felt like Cardi B was playing constantly, and as someone born in 1985, I definitely felt out of place. The downstairs area seemed more suited for people my age, while the upstairs was more of a dance floor filled with younger patrons and a mix of different vibes. There was nothing inherently wrong with the bar; I just found myself preferring to be at home, wearing a nightgown and watching TV. Although I was there alone, I didn’t feel lonely – I'm newly single, but I still felt comfortable.
Watched a guy get choked out here the other night and bouncers watched and didn?t do anything. Definitely don?t feel safe ever going back. Doesn?t seem like they care about the safety of their patrons.
My friend and I were visiting West Virginia for some outdoor adventures and wildlife exploration, but we also wanted to experience the nightlife. We headed to Charleston for some Pepperoni Rolls and stopped by Vino's for drinks. To our surprise, the bartender mentioned that there was salsa dancing upstairs. It was a delightful shock to see so many non-Latinos dancing to the rhythm! Keep it up, everyone—there were some fantastic dancers and beginners eager to embrace the rumba.
