Persimmon Cafe - Charleston

I noticed that Persimmon Cafe received high recommendations from locals, so I decided to make it a priority to stop there as soon as we arrived in Charleston. The staff was friendly, but unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. I ordered the curry chicken salad sandwich, while my husband chose the turkey sandwich. I wish I had opted for the curry chicken salad as a salad or wrap instead, as the bread was incredibly hard and inedible. The orzo salad was also a letdown. I was really looking forward to loving this place, but it didn't quite deliver. My husband enjoyed his food, but he too found the bread to be too tough. The cafe has a charming atmosphere. However, I noticed a sign on the door stating that their hours have changed to Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 4 PM, with no weekend service. Additionally, the restroom could use some improvement, particularly in having paper towels for hand drying.

Went here on our honeymoon for lunch it was delicious. I suggest the grilled cheese with granny Smith apples in it! Cute spot, kinda hipster vibe. Highly recommend!!

Panera can suck a fart. You want a sandwich and some soup? You better be coming here. Wash those nasty clothes you've been rotating for the last three months while you're at it.

First of all, the location alone is so unique! If you like things out of the ordinary this is the place to go. If you love good food- this is the place to go! I absolutely loved my sandwhich and their vanilla lemonade. I had their nutella custard and it was out of this world! For parents: I'm quite picky about where I take my kids, and they loved it! Kid friendly

Delicious sandwiches. And they're able to accommodate gluten free Celiac needs. The crab sandwich was packed with lump crab meat! So good!
