Marina Variety Store - Charleston

If you're looking for a casual Italian dining experience that won't break the bank, Marina Variety Store Restaurant is definitely worth checking out. The food is consistently good, and the prices are more than reasonable. My only complaint is that the restaurant can be a bit noisy, but that's to be expected at a place with a lively atmosphere like Marina Variety Store.

We carried out for breakfast and it was so good! The biscuits and gravy with fried chicken on top was my favorite. The gravy is very flavorful and the chicken was perfectly fried. Prices are extremely reasonable for the portions and everything was hot and fresh. We’ll be back!

Place was heavily recommended on Lowcountry eats on Facebook. Good advice. I had the seafood platter that was fried. Loved the seasoning in the battered crust. Plentiful servings. Friend had grits and shrimp. Equally delicious.

So, so experience. Broiling in the hot sun because they have no shades for the windows. Grumpy old waitress wouldn't move us because she claimed her regulars were arriving any minute but they never did. Food mediocre. No compelling reason to go given all the options in town. It's pretty much the only spot by the marina which is why they have biz.

Very avarage seafood, fish was falling apart, salty crabcakes and place is just beat up and dirty. Before sitting, check toilets, look around at what people get and go somewhere else.
