Contribuiți la feedbackGreat local restaurant with a new look. it is really popular so u’d be willing to wait a table or better make a reservation. they have big wine card with a beautiful list of it. eating was amazing. the aubergines tasted unusual and beautiful. sea bass was so delightful with limette sauce and sweet. I enjoyed the evening and recommended it to my friends, they agreed with my impression
Very different experience in the heart of Chania's old port. The space is much more modern then most restaurants in town and so is the menu. We really enjoyed seeing innovative dishes and portions that are more suited to experimenting. We had the duck and beet risotto and sea bream both were delicious. A bottle of white wine and apple pie for dessert and we left more than glad we came. I recommend making a reservation, since the place is very busy.
In a wonderful location on the port front, we sat in the open seating and watched the sunset over several cocktails and mezze dishes. Delicious mojitos, manda-rum and a wine list to rival a novel. Attentive waiters and every course was superb. Favourites were aubergine and calamari with aioli to start and extremely moist pork. Crack pie and the namelaka for dessert were incredible. A must go.
A disappointment. I know I am only a lone traveller and naturally they would give priority to their local residents. I get that, after all you will not be seeing me again after my holiday but you would be with the locals. That’s understandable. However, I trust you could make a few fire heaters for those poor tourists sitting outside who had to endure the strong wind by the sea at night. It’s not that difficult to anticipate given that it’s October and situated at the harbour front. Coming back to the food, the food could be good if only they could be served hot. The chicken I ordered is lukewarm at best and it’s down right cold and unacceptable to eat. I don’t think that’s to do with the cold wind although it had the certain effect of stealing the last bit of heat from the food. Service is just mechanical as how tourists are being treated. They can serve and they treat the locals far nicer but just not to the tourists. It’s a real disappointment! The wine list is huge and amazing! Such a shame that this restaurant is not really for the tourists. Food 6/10 (a solid 8/10 if served hot), service 6/10 (again a solid 8/10 to the locals), ambience 8/10, value for money 6/10 (8/10 if I get the right treatments as to the locals). Disappointed!
As an avid traveler and food enthusiast this place did disappoint based on the reviews. I’ll begin with the good though service was in general was good, professional and friendly. The restaurant is beautiful and sits right on the harbor. Modern spin on many dishes. The eggplant was delicious, although slightly confusing if it was supposed to be served warm or cold as it was just lukewarm. But would eat again regardless! The octopus carpaccio was our highlight! Unique, delicious, well balanced with acidity, and just so well done. Beautiful presentation as well. Highly recommend trying. Didn’t see anyone else talk about it and am quite surprised by that. We tried the full meat and cheese board all from Greece (I believe Crete). The server set it down and did not explain anything on the board which is poor in my opinion this was the one time I felt the service was not on par. It was pretty good overall, the meats are okay but I honestly don’t believe Greece is known for cold cuts the way Italy is obviously. The cheese was better than the cold cuts in my opinion. Fun to try a variety! A lot of the cheese in Greece is quite mild so it was nice to try some with various flavors. The duck main entree was a huge disappointment. The server highly recommended it over everything. Duck is not a traditional Greek dish which is fine! But it’s also a very challenging dish to get right. Come to find out it’s the only duck the server has ever tried which I wish I would’ve known before ordering. It was over cooked, tough, and under seasoned. The beet risotto sounded so good but unfortunately was just too much happening and overly sweet for the concept. I had a few bites and just couldn’t have any more. Overall, this is a good restaurant to have some variety away from the traditional Greek cuisine in the harbor area. I would stick to the Meze or seafood options!
