Shimogamo - Chandler

We loved this restaurant, very fresh and high quality sushi and sashimi. It is a little on the expensive side, but certainly worth it as a special treat. I have tried several sushi restaurants around Phoenix and this would be the best that I've tried. We went for my son's birthday, but it would also be perfect place for a date night or a group of friends. The service was excellent as the waiter was very knowledgeable about everything. We had four different types of rolls, an assorted sashimi platter, and udon carbonara (interesting). I loved the Rainbow roll but the basic ones were great too (spicy tuna, salmon, California). Highly recommended!

Best sushi in the valley! The ambiance is amazing and the chefs always helpful. I recommend the salmon cornets, the bbq eel nigiri, and the scallop nigiri with miso butter!

Best sushi in AZ!! Sat at the sushi bar and had Alex and Sean recommend dishes to us. Every single piece of fish was so buttery and good. The rice was cooked perfectly and the hand rolls were spot on! This place is definitely a hidden gem but crushes! Their drinks were on point as well!

Time to update my 4 stars to 5. Food was fresh and the service was spectacular. We even watched them handle a couple, with grace, that just wouldn't stop complaining. Seemed like they were just trying to get a free date night out, but we asked to be moved from them, so that's neither here nor there. We made nice with the staff and were also offered complimentary shots. If you get a chance to chat with Peter, Paul, Matt, or Justin, tell them I said hi!

Fabulous! All of it but Juan was probably one of the best servers we've ever had and we've eaten out all over the world! Bravo! And we will be back! Bring a fat wallet lol!
