Casa Maria Mexican Grill - Chandler

I entered this restaurant uneasy due to how small it was and the location of it. I was otherwise extremely satisfied with the smell of the food grilling so that helped subside the looks of the place. The looks don’t stop with how small the place is. The decorations on the wall were enough to please me but I couldn’t get over the self-seating and the bathroom situation. It was comparable to being in a lunchroom again. You awkwardly stand there for a few minutes not realizing that the restaurant is self-seating then deciding to grab any seat possible. I then realized that there were booths after I had already been given my menu and it felt too awkward to get up and move. The bathrooms were not awful but not the best I’ve ever seen. They were one at a time bathrooms, I believe called family restrooms. The only complaint I can have about this is that you have to wait much longer to use the facility and it isn’t always the cleanest. However at the time that I was there it was in fact clean to my standards. No noticeable trash on the floors that I could see. However the soap dispenser was low and that did bother me. I also didn’t like the fact that the bathroom hallway was full of extra chairs. There were also no notable decorations that I was aware of. Once I came back to my seat I noticed chips and a few salsas, red and green, were on my table. I enjoy snack foods like this very much but it did make me wonder how long my food would take and if they were gonna charge me for the preordered appetizer. The chips and salsa were delicious and I especially enjoyed the green salsa. The service before I ordered my real meal was decent but I have been served better. I felt that the waitress was not checking on me enough because I had many times where she would just walk by. The food was excellent however; I did not finish all of it. I have no complaint with a large portion size paired with a reasonable price. I ordered a deep fried burrito filled with black beans lettuce and cheese. I do recall later that nice feeling sick to my stomach. It could have been the food but I am not sure. Overall I would return, but not upon my own suggestion.
