Slim Chickens - Champaign

My husband and I went through the drive-thru at this restaurant as we usually do. We waited in line for 20 minutes without any movement before my husband decided to drive to the front and inquire about the delay. We were told that our order would not be ready for another 20 minutes. My husband asked if he could at least pay for the order, but the cashier refused and insisted that we go back to the end of the line or go somewhere else.

Hot. Delicious. Plenty of options from the entrees to sauces. Friendly wait staff. Short wait period. Happy and plump at the time of departure.

I hadn't visited this restaurant in a while, so I opted to grab a late dinner. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered the 6 piece wings combo, but found that the wings were overcooked and the fries were not hot and fresh. Given the $14 price tag, I felt that I did not receive good value for my money. The only standout item in the combo was the fruit punch.

I made the mistake of ordering a dipping sauce, which was the only good thing about my experience. The tenders were extremely small and lacking in flavor. I ordered garlic parmesan, but there was no taste to be found. Not only that, but the tenders were also overcooked and chewy. It was not worth the $14 I paid. Overall, very disappointing.

Hello deliciousness! The food here is surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I would equate this to a fast food joint but the food was definitely restaurant quality. Also the waitress/cashier was sweet, funny and attentive. They had an employeetraining session going on when we went there, which was pretty annoying because the lady going over the paperwork with the newemployees was screaming over the music and everything else but the food was so good we didn't mind. Thank you for the greatexperience at Slim Chickens!
