Monical's Pizza - Champaign

We ordered our pizza for pickup to avoid delivery fees, but the medium size still came to $25. The pizza itself was delicious, with plenty of flavorful toppings. It's clear that inflation is affecting everyone.

The best thin-crust pizza in town! The service is fantastic, and the French dressing is outstanding.

I had a Cherry Pepsi, and it tasted a bit off—almost rusty. They should really check their soda to ensure it's fresh. As for the pizza, the crust didn’t taste right at all, although the cheese and toppings were decent.

When I arrived, I asked if I could receive some sort of coupon as compensation for the inconvenience. After all, I felt it was fair since I had to make two trips to the restaurant and my wife's workplace. However, they refused to give me a coupon, saying that I was already getting two pizzas for the price of one. I explained that my wife and I didn't like the toppings on the incorrect pizza, meaning I had to drive there and back again just to fetch my original order and a pizza we wouldn’t be eating. Despite my explanation, they still declined to offer any compensation, and I left with only the original pizza I had ordered. As I mentioned, mistakes are understandable. However, their unwillingness to acknowledge the inconvenience their error caused has left me hesitant about returning in the future.

This pizza is truly awful. I can't find anything good to say about either the pan pizza or the thin crust. And don't even get me started on the breadsticks—we were definitely misled by the picture on their website. On the bright side, the delivery was smooth and our order was correct. The woman who took our order over the phone was very pleasant. Since we’re not from this area and have spent many years on the East Coast, we have no nostalgia for Monical’s, which seems to be the only reason it still thrives here. After living in this area for a year, I would highly recommend Jet’s, Rosati’s, or even Domino’s over this place any day.
