Maywood Grill - Chalk Hill

The first word that comes to mind when I think of Maywood Grill is FRESHNESS. Don’t let the modest yet stylish exterior fool you; while it may appear to be a typical restaurant, it is far superior. From the fresh daily breads and pastries to the delightful twists on classic dishes, you will be amazed to find such high-caliber food in Fayette County. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, crafted with high-quality ingredients, and the handmade tables and decor only enhance your dining experience. It’s so refreshing to have access to local, high-quality, fresh, and non-frozen food right in our neighborhood. The photos feature the Angry Bird, Linguine Pomodoro with Burrata, and a side of fresh, non-frozen onion rings.

I visited this restaurant with my partner this weekend and was quite disappointed. The staff seemed uninformed about allergy-friendly options, despite their claims of offering gluten-free rolls and pizza—both of which are made in the same oven as the regular items. I requested a salad without any crumbs due to my gluten intolerance, but unfortunately, it arrived with them. The service was slow, as the process involved standing in line and then waiting at a table for our food. Additionally, I found bones in my chicken sandwich. I’m giving it one star for the excellent location and the cleanliness of the facility, but I won’t be returning. I cannot recommend it to anyone with allergies or dietary restrictions, as I felt neglected during my visit.

I had a fantastic first experience at this restaurant! The prices are quite reasonable. I opted for the 2 for $6 lunch, which included a side salad and soup. You place your order on the bakery side, and then they'll give you a number to take to your table in the dining area, where your order will be brought to you. They serve Coca-Cola products as well.

Did not expect the cafeteria style order, although not my favorite that even not my choice to give this place 2 stars. The food was just okay, the potatoes and bacon were very salty, eggs did not taste so great, but the toast and homemade ham were very good. I wanted to get a single cinnamon for my wife, but the person at the counter just said no and went away. We went to this restaurant because of the reviews and were overall disappointed with the experience.

The food was really good and the service was great. Lauren was really nice and recommended the buckeye cupcakes which were delicious.
