I was surprised that it was available. the meal was excellent, probably the best I tasted in Czech. we shared between 3 and it was more than enough. the service was very good and the waitress spoke excellent English. a great device for booting. highly recommended to try Czech food here.
It was Monday when we visited so it was empty but despite this fact we all got very satisfied with the service, ambiance and quality of food. Pork ribs were really great as well as knee. The separate thanks to our waitress Lucia. Hope to be back in near future.
I usually am capable of writing a review from a fairly objective, dispassionate stance. Ideally I suppose this should always be the case. I therefore confess that in this particular matter your scribe is not his usual wholly engineer accurate calculating self! However the reader could do worse than follow my example of embarking upon a dining experience, as I did on this occasion, in the company of a captivating partner. And so, to business! As will be clear, this establishment is set in the middle of the Czech town of Ceske Budjeovice. I was a Welshman far from home. I had willingly folliwed my gracious lady friend of old, through a dark vaulted entrance and a creaking studded door into the restaurant which had the feel of an ancient castilian cellar but in immaculate detailed taste. This was evidently not the plastic Starbucks to which I am accustomed We upon being , guided, politely took our seats in a quiet spot, on solid oak chairs, which although looking particularly massive and functional, were wonderfully comfortable for the hours that followed. Initially there was some unwelcome noise from an outside sitting area, where a party of young men of German origin had clearly set their targets on their ability to safely consume alcohol, well beyond their actual capacity. My company quietly mentioned this to a waiter who presented in dress appropriate to our surroundings. A door was closed , some guidance offered to the young stags, and soon thereafter they were gone. This was done well which was a relief as my partner is from Russia, where she was born just after the second World War. A candle was lit and menus offered. The menu was extensive and presented in three languages. No Welsh but English did well to step into the breach!! I am no connoisseur of fine food but I can certainly say my chicken and spinach dish was superb. The sweet course that followed had been preceded by a long detailed requirements chat(! between my lady and the very much in role waiter. It was a fruitful chat clearly, in a language well beyond my grey matter to comprehend, as the dish, unique as it was, pleased her palate. I had ice cream but friends I say ice cream but in reality it was presented as a creation fit for adjudication by a Michelin chef. Yes it was good!. Several 500cc of Buddweisser must have slipped passed my usual soft drinks lips as did a few glasses of red wine moisten my dining companion,s conversation Yes a wonderful place , an evening to remember for a very long time if I live a very long time! Please do not waste your time get to this little place as soon as you can in the right company naturally! I hope to return just for the spinach, you understand! Diolch.
Food was delicious, the young waiter was fantasticly efficient and the beer was great (as you would expect). There was a folk band rehearsing and we got chatting with the locals. Really good night, great atmosphere and happy memories
We were in this restaurant on Friday evening, together with my husband. The restaurant was not full, only 3 tabels were occupied. I ordered Pork with wild mushroom creamy sauce and he was satisied. My wife decided for Meat skewer with vegetables . It looked very tasty, but... the meat was not cooked enough, or better said, it was raw. This visit was a failure
