The Acorn - Ceredigion

We have always relied on this fish and chip shop when visiting Borth. We had a great meal there a month ago but were disappointed when we stopped by on a Thursday afternoon in August. The chips were overcooked, the onion rings were soggy, and our daughter did not like the beef burger. The staff was also unfriendly and had no customer service skills. We will be giving the other chip shop a try next time.

No problem with the food, chips are always good, but they don't seem to be able to handle more than a few customers at the same time leading to long delays. Too many options on the menu and they take too long to gather all the bits together. Don't know why they do this it's not as if they have any competition in the area. Forget fast food, this is not a traditional chippy that you can go in anytime and get a bag of chips, sadly.

Chips were far too overcooked, very crispy and pretty much burnt, filled with oil. sausage was undercooked, the batter was so soft it fell off and was like a mush in texture. We have all been poorly since eating here. This is by far the worst chips I’ve ever had.

I just had a takeaway of fish and chips from The Acorn, and wow, they were the best ones we've had in the area for years! Congratulations.
