Contribuiți la feedbackWhat a nice hidden gem! I have returned again with my wife since finding this restaurant this year. I have been enjoying Indian food for over 40 years in Canada and in Europe.Their nan bread is authentically made on site in a clay oven which you don’t always find. The korma is a beautiful mixture of spices and a touch of sweetness that I like.Their appetizer sampler I would recommend as it gives such a great variety of many well known Indian appetizers and flavours I find.Their menu has a wide selection to pick from. You can eat in or do takeout here. Even more reason for me to return as I have such a variety to try each time from this menu. The staff always greets us with a smile and have good knowledge of their food and you can see and taste the great care that goes into it.It is a quaint place that was accommodating even when we showed up last minute without a reservation the first time we visited. The building has character and is warm and inviting inside, even with one table with a slight slant due to the old floorboards that adds charm.Rest assured the rest of the tables are all level it appears, but I do like the charm of the one that’s not. This includes seating right by the the front windows that gives you a nice view of St Andrew street. Our servers are always very nice. Our recent visit we were served by Mohamed. He was very polite and takes time to not just take your order, but to connect with you. I felt his warmth and passion in what he does here. Which he said he has been operating for around 20 years here.I normally don’t leave reviews, but after my recent visit I felt it was more than earned and well deserved.I would like to also mention that the late Sharif Rahman who tragically was taken from us in Owen Sound at his Indian restaurant this year had recommended this location in Fergus to us this summer, weeks before his tragic passing. He had said he had started here in Canada at the Tandoori Grill in Fergus. His food at the Curry House was exceptional and his knowledge in part was due to his experience in England, but it was also his several years of experience learning the industry and further refinement in Canada, at the Tandoori Grill in Fergus from my understanding that inspired him to open his location.I would like to thank Sharif who left us all far too soon for recommending this location and for the Tandoori Grill and Mohamed for taking him and his family under their wing when he started out here in Canada. Also I would like to thank Mohamed at the Tandoori Grill, for not only providing me a great place to visit but also the exceptional food last night. If you’re ever in the area or like a nice leisurely drive out to a rural town that has many shops and other things to offer. Make sure you stop by at the Tandoori Grill for some great Indian food in my opinion and the pleasant staff and atmosphereIt’s worth the over one hour drive every time. Can’t wait for my next visit!
This restaurant serves the best Indian food. If you enjoy very spicy dishes, be sure to try the Vindaloo! It's a favorite among our group.
We drive from Guelph to Fergus because it is the best Indian food around!
We had a good experience ordering take out from this restaurant. The owner was friendly and provided helpful advice on potential entrees for us to share. We opted for the butter chicken the food was ready quickly and was very tasty.
We visited from out of town and stopped by to have butter chicken. The meal was ? (Tasted really good with all the flavours, not spicy). I believe we chatted with the owner, he was friendly and did all he could to ensure we were happy.
