Contribuiți la feedbackI decided to try a pancake from a stall that claimed to sell fresh and crispy ones. It did not disappoint - the pancake was delicious and indeed crispy.
Not all pancake stalls sell crispy pancakes, so I decided to try one. It was fresh, crunchy, and delicious.
I tried the coconut palms ($1.20) and peanut (with peanut butter) buns ($1.40) at the restaurant. I enjoyed both, but particularly liked the peanut bun.
Difference Bakery is a small bakery stall that sells freshly baked traditional snacks at reasonable prices. While some may find it slightly expensive, the quality of the products is worth it compared to other stalls in Singapore. In the past, older generation hawker stall owners prioritized hygiene, nutrition, and generous portions for their customers. Nowadays, many stalls are franchised and face high rental costs, so it is important for Singaporeans to be mindful of what they are eating. Difference Bakery is not located in Albert food center, but rather at a coffee shop in Blk 269B Queen Street, in front of a Chinese temple. I particularly enjoyed their Coconut Bun, which reminded me of the authentic tastes from the 60s and 70s. Overall, the coconut buns from Difference Bakery and Curry Times are a nostalgic treat that outshines other options available.
I came to try the pork rice, but it was just average and not worth taking a photo of. I waited for almost 30 minutes. However, the bean sprouts with cockles were good! I would give them 3 stars.
