Dangerous Table in Breakfast Area. I had breakfast in the Rainham Essex Premier Inn today (6th Nov 2023). I was not an overnight guest. I was directed to a breakfast area were the floor was part solid and part carpeted. It turned out that the table I chose rested part on the carpet and part on the solid area. The was not immediately obvious to me. I later discovered that the table had a single square base so that one side was on the solid floor while the opposite side was on the carpeted area which was fractionally lower than the solid area. This meant that as soon as any weight was put on the side of the table on the carpet it tipped up. This could have resulted in a serious accident e.g. a hot beverage could have been tipped into someone's lap. I am disabled and cannot sit at a table without pressing, for balance, on its surface. Fortunately for me, I sat on the side on the solid floor so the table did not tip onto me although it did rock revealing the danger. Had I sat on the other side my tea would have spilled into my lap. This danger should have been obvious to any half competent manager. When I pointed the danger out I was told it would be drawn to the manager's intention. I think the manager should have responded immediately and removed the danger. When the manager finally looked at the problem I had to explain why the setting of a square based table half on two floor surfaces of different hights was dangerous. She did not seem to understand. Rooms r clean comfy...only problem was of a night when you came back to your room the corridor smelt of weed on both nights that we stayed it got stronger the later it was it was really stron when you opened room doors it came into your rooms other than thst it was a nice stay....
