Rajgate - Central Bedfordshire

So disappointed.. after using this restaurant for over 25 yrs .. eat in And take out .. I am sad to say we won’t be using again. Has it changed hands? We had a delivery tonight .. it was 15 mins later than the maximum stated time despite the fact that we are a 5 min walk away. We had tandoori mixed grill and tandoori king prawn. The portions weren’t great not like they used to be. The salad between 2 dishes was a couple of slices of ice berg lettuce- no cucumber or tomato and 1 tiny piece of onion. The garlic naan as insipid… dry and might as well have been plain . With 3 other Indians in Ampthill why would I choose this one again . I’m sad as it was always the best .

A family member recommended this restaurant to us, but unfortunately, that was the only positive thing about our experience. We invited friends over for dinner and decided to try Rajgate based on the recommendation. It turned out to be one of the worst decisions we've made for takeaway. When we placed our order over the phone, we were initially overcharged, as the online menu was out of date. When we arrived to pick up our food on a Saturday evening, the customer service was poor, the restaurant was empty and cold, and the staff insisted on cash payment only. Other customers also experienced unprofessional behavior from the staff, including the lack of gift vouchers and long wait times for their orders. The food was disappointing, with one dish being overly greasy. We advised the restaurant to update their website, improve service times, and enhance their overall customer service. We were left extremely unsatisfied and will not be recommending this place to anyone.

A group of 6 people dined at the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The service was extremely slow and the temperature inside was uncomfortably cold. Despite being the only customers seated in the restaurant, we had to wait a long time just to order a drink and had to flag down the waiter to place our order. The food arrived an hour later, with half of the order being wrong and several items missing, despite the waiter repeating our order back to us. Some of us were left without food while others had finished eating. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and we do not plan on returning any time soon.

Dismal experience! Was greeted by a waiter who looked as if he didn't want to be there. Waited nearly an hour for our food (restaurant was empty). Food was not hot, which was good because the restaurant must of been at least 30 degrees, and was very bland. Had much better ready meals from the Waitrose opposite.

I went for dinner at a curry restaurant on a Wednesday evening after work and was met by the most unfriendly and rude waiter I have ever encountered. It was clear from the beginning that my presence was not appreciated. After finally being seated, we waited 25 minutes to be served. While my starter was decent, my main course was lukewarm and far from a chicken tikka madras. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area, as it was the only place not busy that evening. Customers want to feel welcomed and valued when they dine out. It may be worth considering who you have greeting customers at the front of your restaurant.
