Pintxoak - Cauterets

I recently had a rather unpleasant experience at this overrated restaurant. The tables were set too close, a result of what seemed like the owner's eagerness for more customers. Unfortunately, a nearby customer spilled wine on my partner, prompting laughter from the owner instead of an apology or assistance. Our table was cramped, and we weren't given a choice, unlike a couple arriving after us. While the food was okay, my trout dish was overpriced with a disappointingly small portion. Overall, the evening was marred by the hostess's unacceptable behavior, leaving us with a less-than-enjoyable dining experience.

Horrible system to take reservations, with multiple phone numbers. When we got there, he said they didn 't have our reservation, and no one answered when I kept calling closer to the time to make sure. They told me they were busy. Even though I left messages and he didn 't even care to check. He told me I was screwed and there 's nothing they could do. His co-worker had to come and apologized finally and told us to comeback 45 mins-1hour later. There is nothing special about this place as far as the menu options so go elsewhere and find the same. The tables are very cramped as the other reviewer said, so watch out during cold and flu season! We ended up having to hunt for another place to eat and finally did at the place next door- La Creperie which was great and excellent service and got saved by the cute wine bar a few doors down as we waited for our table.

A perfect lunch spot with a lovely outdoor terrace next to the river. Friendly and uniquely (as well as appreciated) prompt and attentive service. Even better, the salads were delicious and fresh, and the pate with their soft, airy bread was wonderful. Nice wine selection too.

We had a very good time! Homemade dishes are excellent. We were a group of 14 people and the service was quick and warm. We will come back with great pleasure! Thank you!!!
