River Station Diner - Catawissa

The restaurant closed sometime in late April or early May. According to local social media posts, the space is now available for rent.

Food was great!! Steak,Lobster with salad, potatoes and vegetable. Waitress was friendly and was able to help with everything. They are selling Valentines chocolate covered strawberries which looked yummy. Cake and more. They bake it there. You can order take out. Must try.

Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. When I asked the waitress if the French toast was thickly sliced and homemade, she affirmed both. However, the food arrived lukewarm, likely reheated in a toaster oven or microwave. The French fries were warm but soft, and the chicken hoagie tasted stale rather than fresh. After bringing out our meals, the waitress disappeared, only to be replaced later by someone else who noticed we weren’t eating and asked if we wanted boxes. The original waitress returned smelling of smoke and did not remove the uneaten food from the bill, nor did she provide a detailed receipt. There was also no manager available to address my concerns. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I won't be returning. I plan to share photos of the French toast and contact the health department. I've tried reaching out to the manager but haven't been able to get through.

If you're in search of a freshly prepared, home-cooked breakfast, this is the spot for you. It's an adorable little diner located next to an old train station. Enjoy a scenic drive and a delicious breakfast—it makes for a wonderfully enjoyable Sunday!

Not gonna lie...I was a bit skeptical when we walked in. We are from out of town so we had never been there before. No one else was eating there and you can smell the trains inside the building. What a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious, our waitress (who also cooked our food) was so nice and the prices were great! I would highly recommend!
