Familiar - Casuarina Australia

When popular GC food critic Brendan Hill told me how familiar the taste of this restaurant is to the common Miccy D's and Hungry Jax, I did not believe him. After a 69 minute argument I finally decided to take a very familiar walk through the easy locatable restaurant in the heart of Casuarina. A green haze of vibrancy elevated me from my vehicle, leading my nose into the front of Familiar Takeaway a place of solace. A four minute and twenty second wait in line and BAM! It was my time, my time to order. Salivating at the thought of cruelty free goodness entering my body at the rate of the capsicum spray that entered my eyes from the night before in Surfers Paradise from a Policeman named Dylan Tarlinton because I was J walking in the wrong place at the right time. Professionalism was an understatement for these hard working, highly enthused gang of staff ready to help me with my every request. Did somebody say FREE REFILLS?! because the General Manager did and oh boy I was excited! To say that I didn't try them all Is an absolute lie. A handsome, tall glass of water named Tom whom I've seen disc jockey ing at the local bush doof served our meal with a cheeky grin and a hi 5 that would stop an audience at a rock show from the crack of the impact. BAM, there it was, the succulent BBC slapped onto the table like a text book in grade 7 geography class. I unravelled the well proportioned sandwich and took my first bite like it was the first and last meal of my life. And there it was, That... Familiar taste!

Amazing food and amazing service! Absolutely love this place! Better burgers than any beef burger I’ve ever had. If you’re Canadian you’ll love the Felix fries, it’s a no dairy poutine!

When j ordered I didn’t realize it was a completely vegan restaurant. But I’m down for a good vegan meal and Familiar Takeaway did not disappoint. I got the “See-food” plate. I probably would have gotten something different if I knew it was vegan but it was still quite good. And I hear their burgers are amazing so I’ll probably go back and try those too.

Some of the best vegan food I've ever had anywhere!

Service was amazing. I phoned in my order 25 minutes before close, the staff made it up and had it ready to go when I arrived. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the ABC and my partner had the Free Willy burger, fries and drink. The ABC had a fantastic sauce and the burger was succulent. The Free Willy had a favour like the Mc Donald’s fish burger but gourmet. Fries and drink also awesome. Looking forward to coming back to try all the other burgers.
