Pizzaria Catarina - Castro Marim

We came back 1 year later and had a much worse experience: tinny sardines, fluffy pizza and poor overall food. Service continues ok. Will not come back, plenty of places around with better food.

It was the end of a beach day and we pass by this pizzeria and we didn't decide yet where to eat so why not, pizza is pizza unless it's a good pizza. : the place: there are tables outside and inside, but since it's summer and the ovens are terrible hot as the weather I would advise you to seat outside. the place have a simple view without anything fancy or any character or uniqueness. the staff: they were plain and direct, you will not get many words from them but they do their job somehow. Looks like that when the restaurant fills up they lost the way for a bit but nothing on the chaotic level. the others took some time but since it's not pre-heated stuff its normal. the food: we all asked for pizza and of course no one asked for pizza with fruit, what is that anyway!? my friends were delighted with theirs, maybe because they were hungry but not for me. I asked for a pepperoni pizza and I guess the definition of pepperoni is a bit fuzzy cause it wasn't the original stuff but some other spicy ham. bad luck for me but despite that the pizza was not bad and had some flavor which let it pass by without send it back. we all asked for beer so not much on that field to review. the price: 43,60€ for 3 people. it's not a high price and the quality of the pizza was ok so if you want a quick meal with a fair price i think this place fills your measure.

I've been reading the reviews for this restaurant and nobody has mentioned the fish dishes. This is not just a pizzeria. This restaurant serves the most delicious fish dishes. Try their bream and sea bass served with boiled potatoes in their skins and really fresh vegetables, not salad. I've been going there for many years up to this July with my husband, family, and always had their very tasty tuna salad and pizza. But in Sept I returned there with friends and they had the fish and it was so good I had it the second time we went. Excellent and a good size. I'll be having it again next July when I return with family to Alura to celebrate a very special occasion. Besides the food being delicious the service is fantastic. The staff are very professional and friendly.

Had a great time here with the wife, my in laws and our 1 year old. The menu is similar to most places in Altura but the staff are friendly, beer reasonable and the food great. We dined here 3 times over 7 days and it was our best experience in the town.
