O Carocho Café E - Castro Marim

Had a great experience here. They were out of the coquilas but the almejas were excellent. A cup of the soup of the day was split pea and absolutely delicious for a chilly winter day, and only 2€! The grilled dorada was everything it should be and flan for desert... so glad we went here!

I'm very sorry if this sounds like a blanket type generalisation but after lots and lots of Spanish restaurants in touristy places, the simplicity, the honesty and the quality here was like a breath of fresh air : honest food, honest people, fantastic meal with...a good bottle of wine, felt a bit like eating at home with family and food your mum would cook. A clear menu with clear prices, no sorry we are out of that but I can recommend you THIS then being fed something they want to get rid of... I cannot recommend this place enough. Eat here if you can, you will appreciate it. Even the cakes and pies in the dessert display looked and tasted like they were home made from scratch.

Busy restaurant, mom and pop place wife and grandmother cooking husband alone to serve tables quite busy 10 tables we arrived and only waited 5 ministration and waiter came and offered cuvert and offered drinks i ordered wine and water bread and olives and they were delivered quickly then a 10 minute wait and we ordered our starter fried prawns in garlic totally amazing crispy shells soft inside i ate all the boils

Good place for snacks, breakfast, sandwich or local cuisine, lots of local people, prices are very good and place is clean

For lunch, but for breakfast. He had two beautiful toasts with milk and galão and coffee. The toast could be ordered on the typical Portuguese bread and was a good size. We were served by a young girl who did a very... good job. We were so happy with her we went there for another breakfast the day after (we were quite a journey from there, yet.) The price was very typical of everything we were charged at €4.30 which we paid €5, because of the service the young girl offered us.
