New Dragon - Castlebar legal

Best chinese food served in Castlebar, this has been one of my favourite restaurants in Castlebar so far. All the food are highly recommended, I love the sweet and sour chicken and chicken wings!

My wife and I recently dined at New Dragon for dinner. The manager/waitress greeted us with Prawn Crackers and Tea as we perused the menu. My wife enjoyed the Hot and Sour Soup, while I opted for the Won Ton. For our main courses, we ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken and Beef with Szechuan Sauce, both accompanied by Fried Rice. Overall, we were pleased with the food and service at New Dragon.

We needed a quick, inexpensive meal for a family of 5 and we were recommend to go here by a local, where we sat in to eat. The welcome and service was good, the menu was as expected and the food was well cooked and tasty. The takeaway orders were flying out too and it was reasonably priced.

While passing through Castlebar, one of our teenagers was craving Chinese food. The restaurant's main customer base seems to be takeout orders, but diners must enter the restaurant to wait, turning them into observers of the dining area. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff took good care of us despite being busy with the takeout orders. Overall, we would return for takeout but not dine in due to the lack of ambiance.

Can only compliment this place, great food, good staff and cheep. Always good delivery time! We usually get chicken dry hot and spicy, chicken and black bean or chicken curry. Always very nice. Highly recommend new dragon!
