Basically you have no choice food is slow cooked and prepared during the day and you are served six courses and coffee and grappa choose from about 30 varieties including hot chilli ! all in the price. Service was superb and the food was extraordinarily good particularly the sauces. As to be expected when there is a range of courses we preferred some more than others but we cleared all our plates!
You walk into this place and you're transported. The historic building seems to radiate centuries of smiles and laughter, and yours will add to the ambience after you taste chef Riccardo Ceccarelli's inspired food, paired with delicious (and surprisingly reasonably priced wine. There's no menu here. You, like every other guest get, the chef's creations du jour, which come in the form of seven amazing locavore courses, unlike anything you've tasted anywhere else. (There is a vegetarian option, though.Call ahead. Chef Riccardo and his wonderful family will make you feel like you're part of the clan. Don't expect to leave in a hurry, and definitely don't expect to leave hungry. Not exactly Castiglione del Lago, this gem of a restaurant is tucked away in the adjacent town of Panicarola. Make sure your GPS is working, but don't miss this fantastic experience if you're anywhere near,in Umbria or Tuscany. Va bene!
We dined here 2 years ago and it was just as incredible the second time around. There is no menu and on the placemat it states that this is a true slow food dining experience, mobile phones must be turned off, children are not welcome unless their behavior is impeccable and if you are in a rush then Mc Donald's is down the road! We were a large group of guests with the owner from Fontanaro Farm and we had a fabulous evening. We were served about 5 dishes each more delicious then the one before and the wine list is amazing as is the decor of the restaurant, which is inside of the owners home! At the end of the meal a trolley of grappa is wheeled in and left for the guests to help themselves! We were warned last time that the top shelf can make grown men cry! This is a fabulous Umbrian dining experience that is not to be missed if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed. Thank you to the owners for your warm welcome and wonderful hospitality, we hope to return one day.
You eat and drink as never the owner is company and the service is excellent. Don't miss the chance.
I also add with immense pleasure to the excellent reviews of this restaurant, where you can breathe immediately conviviviviality ' all thanks to its rich managers, mariella and Franciscan, always friendly and welcoming that make you feel good, as they say at home making everything special from the beginning to the end. I have been both at lunch and dinner several times, always savoring different menus and dishes, the chef is an artist, excellent dishes both of meat and fish, not to mention the wide choice of wines, that for me that I am passionate, is spectacular. after the dessert comes the legendary pram that brings with it the many and excellent homemade grappas and between one grappa and the other and spend the hours between gossip and laughter, but you know. when time is well flying. - See you soon!
